An Empress in Japanese history

It is interesting to learn is there that one Empress of 3.000 years of history of China. Instead, the Japan had 10 Empress in its history. China women seek more that released the Japan today. On the other hand, Japanese women are identified taking and calm. There cannot be true these days, but the global impression on Japanese women is obedient. It seems that Samurai regime should be blamed for Japanese women obeyed positions. Above all, Shogun Tokugawa Edo Government has determined that women must be behind the scenes of the political and social.

In the older days that the Government of Samurai, established in 1492, Japanese women were more liberal and freely appears often in politics. The first rule of the Japan was a woman, Himiko. Among them above 10 Empress, Empress 8 were between 6th and 8th centuries. This name, the Empress is "Komyo Empress". She has played a vital role in Buddhism became a national religion in the Japan.

Buddhism is interesting religion. Between the 6th and 4th century BC, Siddhartha Gautama began India Buddhism. After training as a severe, Siddhartha became Buddha, one night, began to teach and lead people. For any reason whatsoever, Buddhism is that not become major in India, its place of origin. India, according to their national survey, 2001, the largest religion is Hinduism, 80.5%. The second largest religion is Islam, 13.4%. Christianity was the third position of 2.3 per cent of the population of the India. Buddhist population is only 0.8% in the survey above.

Buddhism became very popular in China between the 5th and 7th centuries. The Japanese Imperial Government in the 8th century decided Buddhism national religion. Komyo Empress was devout Buddhist. She became an Empress in 724. She is the wife of the Emperor Shomu. Emperor Shomu introduced Buddhism to be against existing local religion aristocrats. Local religion, Shitoism, has become too dominant to the Government in many ways. Later, Buddhism became an important religious authority in Japan centred on the concept of "love, equality and unlimited Mercy."

In the 8th and 9th century, the Japan built status of world heritage monuments. Todaiji Temple is one of them. Yakushiji Temple is another. Daibutsu "Great Statue of Buddha" NARA represents all Buddhist monuments built in this period.

Empress Komyo remained to be the wife of the Japanese Emperor Shomu. It was, however, known as the central Buddhist sponsor. It was planned and implemented all the monuments of Nara period the Buddhism, including Todaiji Yakushiji, Daibutsu. It built the first Japanese national hospital, Seyakuin. Japanese mythology tells Empress Komyo itself involved in the treatment of patients. It does not limit the function of this national hospital just for the family of the emperor or aristocrats. Anyone ill in spite of their social class can use this hospital.

One day, Empress Komyo was engaging in the treatment of the patient in the national hospital. An old man with Hansen's disease came to him. Empress Komyo attempted to clean up his body, but she could not clean up all the pus from his injuries. Komyo Empress began to suck the pus with his mouth for cleaning. Suddenly, the former leper-House changed its appearance. He was one of the messengers of Buddha, Nyo - Rai. NYO - Rai told him that Buddhism would protect his country and the people so that his people would enjoy prosperity. Buddhism became the national religion Komyo Empress successfully.
