Chronicles to the past – the Museum of past Cuyo

As a real past of the region of Cuyo window, the Museum of the "past Cuyano" displays valuable objects and documents which were part of every moment in life of the people of Mendoza, San Juan and La Rioja in the 19th century.

Museum passed Cuyo, after appointed Dr. Edmundo Correas, was inaugurated on 24 may, 1967. Considered as a place to make it visible regional history for generations to come. Now the historical studies is in charge of this institution and placed in a declared national historical monument building, that used to belong to Francisco Civit, former Governor of the province of Mendoza.

This museum is rather large. He held more than sixteen rooms and four courses. In walking through them, history looks to turn living in the vicinity of various, referring to the moments in the history of the region of Cuyo. Antique furniture, pictorial works, text files and objects are some tickets for the train of the 19th century in this region of South America.

History comes to life in this Museum, objects and documents of the past remain intact and tell much about the life of their former owners. It is this valuable information, a precious testimony of other times, which will be treasured by researchers of today and future generations in the region of Cuyo.

The Museum of past Cuyo has many rooms and one of them is the archaeological, next to a salon of the evolution of the oil industry in Mendoza.
